Amazing night sky view in Thailand

Dear Wandering Spirit,

On December 21st 2019, I boarded a plane to Thailand, and this journey was life-changing. Not only did I get to know a new place, culture, and mindset, but I discovered a new me too.

Although I had travelled quite a lot around Europe, this was my first faraway destination. I took a plane dreaming of white sandy beaches, flourishing nature, and colourful buildings – well, I experienced way more than that! 🧘‍♀️

I took part of this profound spiritual world with me on the flight back home.

Thailand Travel Itinerary

The plan was to spend an extraordinary Christmas at the beach and NYE in one loud, huge, and fascinating Asian metropolis. 🌆 My travel itinerary to Thailand included:

  • The cutting-edge Capital City of Bangkok,
  • The ancient temples in Ayuttaya,
  • Damnoen Saduak and Maeklong for the railway and floating markets,
  • The island of Phuket, and
  • The southern Phi Phi islands.

Within ten days, I could cover several attractions and activities, as well as discover the Thai culture, cuisine, and temples. I could have both relaxing moments on the beach and a bit of adventure. 🧭 I did something new, spending the festive days far away from home. In the end, I had one of the best journeys of my life!

Travel to Thailand from Europe

Travelling from North Germany to Bangkok offered two possibilities: one stop either in Moscow or Dubai. The long journey was daunting at the beginning (13 hours), but lucky me, I had a TV series, a good book, some music, and warm food. These were great companions in the first evening hours. 💤 After dinner, I put slippers on and took a cosy plaid to quickly go night-night.

Unforgettable Travel Memories

The plane landed in Bangkok on Dec 22nd in the morning, and there were a few hours to wait before taking another plain to Phuket Island. For this reason, I went around and got acquainted with the Thai people.

Flying from freezing temperatures under 0 degrees to over 30 degrees was new too. I took some pictures of the very particular skyscrapers and had my first Tuk-Tuk experience. 🛺I also had a lunch of spicy chicken and rice plus some sweet juicy drinks.

Why Visit Thailand

In the early afternoon, I boarded the domestic plane and was pleasantly surprised how nice this short trip was. After less than 1.5 hours, I put my feet on the famous Phuket island and the excitement grew more and more. Travelling from the airport to the fantastic resort I had booked in Patong, I realised that this was going to be a special trip.

Why visit Thailand? At this point, I won’t disclose more. The rest you can read in dedicated blog posts about my time in Bangkok with all activities around the main city, the day trip to the enchanting Phi Phi Islands, and the relaxing and colourful Phuket Island.
